After extensive experience with the standard Health-Care model of psychotherapy, involving the sharing of personal information with third party payers, I have created a new kind of therapy practice, with a wellness orientation, and added safeguards to my clients’ personal information. For this reason, I operate a strictly fee-for-service practice. By not accepting third party (insurance) reimbursement, clients’ personal information is afforded an additional level of security, as there is no requirement to file a mental health diagnosis or any other personal information with your insurance company. Such information, if filed, could be kept on your record for use in future decisions regarding insurance or (in certain cases) employment.
You can access your Flexible Spending Account (FSA) or Health Savings Account (HSA) benefits to pay for services, while reducing tax costs. If you prefer, I will provide an invoice for you to request reimbursement from your insurance company. If you decide to do this, you should be aware that your insurance company may require a diagnosis, in order to process payment to you.
My goal is that cost should not pose a barrier to treatment. As such, the nature of my (fee-for-service) practice also enables me to offer a reduced fee to those for who might need this, based on household income. Please call for details.
